Last week the Mountain Mamas had an absolutely glorious hike at the top of Mount Falcoln! We met in the parking lot and hiked along the Castle Trail and the Meadow Trail. This combination makes for a pretty easy 2 mile hike with very little incline. There are trails coming up the front side of Mount Falcoln that are much tougher, but on this day, we had a more moderate hike with the babies.
The Castle Trail takes you to an old home ruin that was built in the late 1800s and makes for an interesting rest stop. Then if you continue onto the meadow trail, you pass through a mountain meadow and then into some beautiful tree-covered forest. On this day, the weather was just about perfect - cool enough for a long sleeved shirt, and warm enough to relax and enjoy the day.
We had 12 moms with us on the hike all with babies in carriers. Moms enjoyed conversation and the scenery… and everyone looks forward to more great hiking through the fall colors!
