Well I moved here from Texas about 5 months ago. So I decided not to buy skis. Instead, I bought a demo pass for the season at Breeze Ski Rentals. It cost me $189 for the entire season....and I can rent any pair of Demo skis and take them out. So far, I found I like the K2 Lotta Luv's and the Volkl Attiva Fuego. Both of those are awesome to ski on. They are a little fatter, so they glide on top of the powder incredibly! But at the same time, they ski really well on groomed trails.
